Message So...this means...the focus of reason as to why Nissan designed the VG with an apparent "cross flow" is to make a length intake manifold to equal out intake resistance as well as optimize tq values at low and mid range power levels. The idea behind this intake system has NOTHING to do with the cross flow design where everyone states that the "right side feeds the left bank and vise versa". This design proves and states that this was solely a engineering process to gain optimum performance for the designated target they were aiming for. For the VG30DETT, this proves that the intake track, while proven to be very stable does not rely on mandating SMICs work/run better with this designed system. Intake systems are designed for efficiency efforts ONLY. As viewed, the three styles of intake designs show the degree of flow as well as resistance made with each varied design. The Type III gave less resistance with the 480mm length runner with the full flow design from left to right.
